This is no Jar of Dirt. This is a simple truth. Girls in my age group are into older men. They're into that maturity factor. When they favor particular celbrities, they judge them by which one are good looking...and most of the time the best looking ones are old enough to be are Dad's. There is a facebook group dedicated to this. Yes I am a member. I honestly can't help that all the good looking male celebrities are old enough to be my father or just a good bit older than me. I blame this on my mother. Why? She has the thing for Harrison Ford who just happens to be her father's age so therefore it's all her fault.
Yes I can blame a parent on this one. Mom, don't even try to get out of it either. If Harrison Ford walked through the door of our house split from his extremely skinny girlfriend asking my mom for a date she would divorce her husband in an instant. I'm not kidding!!! I know she's reading this in the near future after it's published thinking of ways to murder me and get away with it. Sorry mama, I did learn everything from you. Honestly when you look at the good looking male celebrities out there: Johnny Depp, Leo DiCaprio, Gerry Butler, Ewan McGregor, Ralph Fiennes, Jack Davenport, James Marsters, etc. They're either my dad's age, a few years younger, or older. It honestly does not make any sense. Of course my taste in them makes sense to no one as it is. 
There are the few good looking younger ones: Orlando Bloom & Ryan Gosling for example. Like I said they are few. I mean a girl typically gets her first crush on a movie star. It's just unfortunate that these days all the good looking ones are so much older. It doesn't mean that I'm going to go looking to date a guy my dad's age. That's just stupid. A guy two to four years older is perfectly fine with me. I dated in that age range already. It works fine for me. Crushes and thoughts about people I'm never going to meet are a totally different story. I can think they're good looking. It's perfectly healthy unless it becomes something out of hand and turns into one of those creepy unhealthy obsessions. The total truth is girls my age are into the older male celebrities because right now those are the good looking ones. It does not mean we want older men in our personal lives to the point that they are our father's age. I have my limits.
I don't mind them a bit older. In fact if they are a few years older they might actually be on the same maturity level I am or even better more mature than me, if I'm lucky. What I'm looking for I'm my real life though is a great guy just a few years two but no more than five years older than me. But my celebrity crushes, is there really an age limit on that? I don't think so and neither do the other girls my age. It's not like I'm ever going to meet them but I have every right to enjoy their looks. In fact everyone has a right to enjoy their looks. Who are we to say it's not ok to enjoy someone's looks just because of their age? I mean good grief if we put an age limit on good looks or enjoying good looks then Johnny Depp would be out of a job, as well as a few other actors but Johnny is the most popular. So why does my generation crush on the older generations? It's because for some reason those people have defied logic and just get better looking with age. This is something we just can't help. Oh and a big kudos to anyone who can correctly name the celebrities in the photos of this blog post. Even more kudos to the one who can name which one is the oldest and which one is the youngest or if you can identify and put them in age order. HINT: The one at the top is not the oldest.
